According to the story, this icon comes from an interesting popular legend that dates back to the medieval era and tells the epic of a pilgrim on his way to Santiago de Compostela, who was miraculously saved from the gallows thanks to Santiago, when the crowing of a rooster was surprisingly heard. A story of easy popular understanding, from which emanated a symbol of easy interpretation.
